Through-beam transmitter for dirty environments
The Telemecanique XUB2AKSNL2T is a 18 mm tubular photoelectric through-beam source from the XUB series, designed as the transmitter half of a paired through-beam sensor system. It projects an infrared beam across a 15 m gap to a separate receiver — the range is the actual working distance in clean air, so expect some derating in heavy dust or mist. The 1 ms response time is fast enough for most part-present and counting applications on conveyor lines, but not for high-speed ejection or registration mark detection. Runs on 12 to 24 VDC, three-wire configuration via a 2 m PVC cable. The plastic housing and PMMA lens are rated IP67 and NEMA 4X/12, meaning the sensor body and optics survive washdown and outdoor exposure — suitable for food-and-bev lines, car washes, or outdoor conveyor gantries. PMMA lens is less scratch-resistant than glass; keep the wiper blade clean.
