The Telemecanique XUB2BPBNM12R is a tubular photoelectric through-beam detector from the XUB series, built for object presence detection across a 15 m gap. The 15 m range covers long conveyor spans or wide access points where a single emitter-receiver pair replaces multiple proximity sensors. Supply is 12 to 24 VDC, standard for most industrial DC control circuits, with a PNP normally-closed output rated at 100 mA maximum load. The 1 ms on/off response time keeps up with fast-moving parts on a packaging or material-handling line.
Enclosure and mechanical fit
The nickel-plated brass barrel is threaded for direct mounting through a panel or bracket — no adapter ring needed. The IP67 / NEMA 4X/12 rating means the sensor body and optics withstand washdown, dust ingress, and outdoor exposure; suitable for food-and-bev lines or wet-area conveyor sections. Connection is via an M12 4-pin DC micro male connector, a common industrial quick-disconnect that mates to standard M12 cordsets without special tools.
Output and approvals
Output configuration is PNP normally-closed, so the output switches high when the beam is uninterrupted and drops low on break. Switching frequency is 500 Hz, which matches the 1 ms response time. Approvals include UL, CSA, and CE, covering installations in North American and European markets.
