The Schneider Electric XUB4APAWL2 is an active-production photoelectric sensor from the XUB series. It uses a cylindrical M18 housing with diffuse detection — no separate reflector needed, making it a straightforward fit for presence detection on conveyor lines or in packaging machinery where the target itself is the reflector.
Integration note
The M18 cylindrical body fits standard 18 mm mounting holes, common across most panel brackets and sensor holders. Diffuse mode means alignment is simpler than through-beam or retroreflective — just point-and-set the sensitivity via the potentiometer. No separate receiver wiring reduces the cable count at the panel entry, which saves a bit on gland space and cable tie-down time.
