Diffuse sensing at 600 mm, PNP, IP67
The XUB5APANL2 is a diffuse photoelectric sensor from the Schneider Electric XU series, with a maximum sensing distance of 600 mm. The diffuse method means the emitter and receiver share the same housing; the sensor detects objects by the light reflected back from the target, so no separate reflector is needed. Output is PNP (sourcing), switching at 500 Hz, rated for a load current up to 100 mA. The 500 Hz switching frequency means the sensor can detect objects passing at line speed without missing edges — adequate for most conveyor and packaging applications. Rated IP65 and IP67, the PBT body and PMMA lens withstand washdown and temporary immersion. The 2 m prewired cable with bare-wire termination simplifies installation in a junction box or direct to a PLC input.
Supply and protection
Operates on 12-24V DC, with built-in overload, reverse polarity, and short circuit protection — the sensor will not fail if the field wiring is crossed or a downstream short occurs. Light-on switching mode, with a single indicator light for output status. The 18 mm cylindrical body with straight face orientation fits standard M18 mounting brackets.
