The XUB9BNANM12 is a Square D / Telemecanique XUB-series polarized retroreflective photoelectric sensor in an 18 mm threaded brass barrel, built to detect a reflector target at up to 2 m with a 1 ms on/off response at a 500 Hz operating frequency. It runs from 12 to 24 VDC, switches through a 3-wire NPN normally-open output rated to 100 mA load, and lands in the panel on a 4-pin micro connector. The yellow LED on the body is the output-state indicator.
Mechanical and environmental envelope
The M18 nickel-plated brass body threads into a standard 18 mm mounting hole, and the sealed enclosure is rated to NEMA 4X/12 and IP67, so the sensor tolerates hose-down and outdoor panels. Operating temperature spans -13 to 131 °F — a range wide enough for both unheated indoor cabinets and outdoor conveyor skids without derating the switching envelope.
Wiring and switching side
On the wiring side the 4-pin micro connector carries three active conductors, giving the standard brown/blue load + NPN signal layout to a 12–24 VDC source. The 100 mA load current is enough to drive a typical PLC fast input or a small interposing relay directly; the 1 ms response with 500 Hz operating frequency keeps it inside normal high-speed conveyor counting and indexing duty without missing pulses.
Compliance footprint
The sensor carries UL, CSA and CE approvals on the listed spec, which is the documentation set most supplier-quality gates ask for on a photoelectric component in a control panel.
