What it is and what the ratings mean
The Telemecanique XUK1APANL2 is a rectangular retroreflective photoelectric sensor from the XUK family, rated for 9 m sensing distance with a fixed PNP 3‑wire NO output. It operates on 12 to 24 VDC, draws up to 100 mA, and switches in 2 ms — fast enough for part-in-place checks on moderate-speed conveyors. The yellow output LED and red stability LED give immediate visual feedback during commissioning. The NEMA 4/4X/12/13 and IP65 enclosure means it handles washdown environments without a secondary housing. Body is PBT, cable is 2 m PVR (oil-resistant PVC), and it carries UL, CSA, and CE approvals — so it slots into North American and European panels straightforwardly.
Mounting and integration notes
The rectangular XUK body mounts via through-holes or a bracket; no special alignment tool needed for retroreflective mode — just aim the emitter/receiver at a reflector (included or separate). The 2 m pigtail cable is factory attached, so plan cable routing before mounting. The IP65 rating means it can be mounted directly on machine frames with washdown exposure, but keep the cable entry pointed down to avoid pooling.
