Through-beam fit for 30 m spans
The XUK2APANM12R is a through-beam photoelectric sensor with a 30 m sensing distance — the emitter and receiver are separate units, so the detection range is the maximum gap between them on a conveyor, transfer line, or automated storage aisle. At 30 m, this covers long straight sections where retroreflective or diffuse sensors lose signal strength. Output is PNP normally open, switching at 250 Hz with a 2 ms response time. The 100 mA maximum load current drives a PLC input or a small relay directly; the 250 Hz switching frequency means it can count parts passing at up to 250 per second, provided the downstream controller matches the speed.
Enclosure and approvals for wet-duty installs
Rated IP65 and NEMA 4/4X/12/13 — dust-tight and protected against hose-directed water. This qualifies it for washdown zones in food processing, beverage filling, and outdoor conveyor sections where rain or cleaning cycles hit the sensor body. The plastic housing and PMMA lens are compatible with mild chemical exposure typical of industrial washdown detergents. Carries UL, CSA, and CE approvals — the certifications cover North American and European installation standards. For a panel builder or integrator, this means the sensor can be specified into a UL 508A panel or a CE-marked machine without a separate agency review.
Connection and supply voltage
M12 4-pin DC micro male connector — mates with standard M12 cordsets (A-coded). No hardwiring into the sensor body; replacement or swap-out takes seconds by unplugging the cordset. The 12 to 24 VDC operating voltage matches the common 24 VDC control supply in most automation panels. Operating temperature range -13 to 131 °F (-25 to 55 °C) covers most indoor and sheltered outdoor installations. The plastic housing and PMMA lens hold up to thermal cycling within that band without condensation inside the optics.
Sourcing and lifecycle status
The M12 connector variant (rather than a fixed cable) simplifies field replacement — the cordset is separate and can be swapped without pulling new wire through conduit.
