The Schneider Electric / Square D XUM0APSAM8 is a miniature rectangular photoelectric sensor from the XUM series. It uses multimode sensing — meaning the sensing method adapts to the target — and provides a maximum sensing distance of 14 m with a 2 ms response time. Output is PNP, rated for 100 mA continuous load over a 12-24V DC supply.
Mounting and Environment
Rated IP65 and IP67, so it withstands washdown and temporary submersion. The rectangular plastic body measures 45 mm high, 12 mm wide, and 20 mm deep — sized for tight panel or machine mounting. Connection is via a 4-pin M8 connector; the PNP output uses NO/NC contacts (1NO/1NC). Ambient range is -13°F to 131°F.
