Integration Notes
The XUM2AKCNM8T: At 11 mm wide and 43 mm tall, this sensor mounts in a standard DIN-rail footprint or panel cutout for miniature photoelectrics. The plastic body means no grounding concerns through the housing — treat it as a non-conductive enclosure. Thru-beam detection gives you a clean on/off signal across the gap, immune to target color or surface finish, so it's suited for part-present sensing on conveyors or through-package detection in bottling lines.
What It Replaces or Sits Alongside
If your panel was originally specced around the XURK1KSMM12 — a metal-body, rectangular diffuse sensor with NPN/PNP output and M12 connector — the XUM2AKCNM8T is a different animal: it's a plastic thru-beam transmitter only, not a self-contained diffuse sensor. No direct swap without rewiring and reconfiguring the sensing strategy. The XU2M18AP20D is closer in function (thru-beam set, cylindrical metal body, 70 m range) but physically larger at 18 mm diameter and 95 mm length, so it won't drop into the same cutout.
