The XUM8ANCNL2: Output is NPN with a 100 mA maximum load current, and it runs on 12–24 VDC drawing 20 mA. The 1 ms response time is fast enough for part-present detection on moderate-speed lines, though not for high-speed counting applications. Connection is a 2 m PVC cable, which means no separate connector to lose on site — just strip and terminate. Operating temperature range is -13 to 131 °F, so it works in unheated warehouse environments or near ovens with some clearance.
CE approval is listed. No UL or CSA listing is stated in the spec sheet, so verify local code acceptance if your panel requires those marks.
Installation Notes
The miniature block form factor (plastic) fits tight spaces — think inside a conveyor frame or between guide rails. The 2 m cable is fixed; if you need a longer run, plan a junction box or splice within the cable length. Background rejection means it ignores reflective surfaces behind the target at the rated 0.3 m, so mounting near shiny metal or belts is less problematic than with retro-reflective types. NPN output (sinking) ties directly into most PLC input cards that source 24 VDC. Confirm your input module is compatible — if your system uses PNP sourcing inputs, you'll need an interposing relay or level shifter.
