The XUSZWPE105 from Schneider Electric (marketed under the Telemecanique line) is a 1050 mm protective screen for safety light curtains, filed as a Light Curtain Accessory rather than a controller or sensing element itself. It is the mechanical shield that sits in front of the curtain's active field to take impact, weld spatter and incidental contact that would otherwise damage the optoelectronics.
Mounted in front of a 1050 mm tall light curtain array, the screen preserves the optical path between emitter and receiver while absorbing the physical abuse that a working cell hands out — stray tooling, falling blanks, coolant splash. Because it is a passive mechanical accessory, it does not enter the safety circuit and does not require its own SIL rating; the safety function still lives in the curtain and its monitoring module. Specify it when the application environment is rough enough that replacing a scratched lens every quarter is no longer acceptable.
