Electrical fit, in plain terms
At 0.5 MILLISECOND response and 1000 HZ operating frequency, the XUVH0312 fits parts-counting and label-detection duty; high-rate web or edge-detection applications need a faster fork.
Where this class of sensor sits
Fork photoelectric sensors of this class are used to detect the passage of labels, thin webs, small parts, and edges on conveyor and packaging lines where a self-contained emitter and receiver in a single U-shaped body removes the alignment step of a separate through-beam pair. The 360° output LED gives a visible state from any mounting angle, which is useful when the head is bracket-mounted in a tight panel and the operator has to read it from the side or below.
Sourcing posture and lifecycle
The XUVH0312 is in the current lifecycle stage, so the BOM line can be carried through normal supply rather than last-time-buy, and a critical spare belongs in the cabinet while the line is running. Compliance is documented by the CE approval; no separate RoHS, REACH, or UL entries appear in the part's evidence, so anything beyond CE will need a mill document from the supplier at order time.
