What This Fork Sensor Does
The Telemecanique XUVK0252S is a fork-style photoelectric sensor from the XUV series, combining a 2 mm through-beam gap with a 0.1 ms response time. It is designed for fast, short-range detection of small parts, edges, or flags in tight spaces — common on packaging lines, pick-and-place stations, and web edge guides. The 2 mm sensing distance and 0.1 ms response time define the application window: it catches parts moving at high line speeds but only over a short gap. The 100 mA load current per output is sufficient for direct PLC inputs or small relays; the dual PNP/NPN wiring with two normally-open and two normally-closed contacts means it drops into either sinking or sourcing I/O cards without a converter. The zinc alloy body with IP65 protection uses a 4-pin nano connector; LED indicators show green (ready), yellow (output), red (error), and infrared emission operates at 10 kHz.
