Precision fork sensor for high-speed presence detection
The XUVK0252VS: Its 2 mm sensing distance and 0.1 ms response time make it suited for counting, registration mark, or edge detection at switching frequencies up to 10 kHz. The fork construction (zinc alloy body) holds the emitter and receiver in a fixed gap — no aligning optics, just presence/absence inside that 2 mm window. Output configuration is PNP/NPN selectable, with 2 normally-open and 2 normally-closed contacts, plus a light/dark operating mode selector — one sensor covers both sinking and sourcing PLC inputs.
What the ratings mean for fit
2 mm sensing distance, 0.1 ms response, and 10 kHz switching frequency for fast detection. Operating voltage: 12 to 24 VDC means it runs off a standard industrial power supply without a separate regulator. The 100 mA load current rating covers direct drive of a small relay or PLC input, not a motor contactor. IP65 enclosure allows hose-down cleaning; 4-pin nano connector requires an IP65 cordset to maintain seal. Operating temperature: 32 to 131 °F.
Lifecycle and sourcing
We source the XUVK0252VS to order against an RFQ. Lead time depends on factory backlog, but because it's active, we can provide a firm delivery quote. Same part, different passport — genuine Telemecanique regardless of which authorized region it ships from.
