What this sensor does on the line
The XUX2APBNM12R is a Square D / Telemecanique XUX series compact photoelectric through-beam sensor in a block / rectangular housing, used where a long-throw PNP output is needed from a 12 to 24 VDC supply. Through-beam detectors of this class pair an emitter and a receiver across a gap; the receiver reports the beam state on its switching output, so fit is governed by sensing range, output type, and supply voltage rather than by a target's reflectivity. Electrical ratings on record: 40 M sensing distance, 12 to 24 VDC supply, PNP NC output, 100 MILLIAMPERE maximum load current, 250 HZ switching frequency, 2 MILLISECOND response time. Connection is an M12 4-pin DC micro male connector, which keeps wiring on a standard sensor cordset and avoids custom pigtails in the panel.
Environment and approvals
The enclosure rating of NEMA 1/3/4/13 and IP67 covers indoor dust, splashing water, and oil-coolant exposure typical of a packaging or machining cell; the plastic housing with PMMA lens keeps the optical window serviceable in washdown. Approvals listed are UL, CSA, and CE, which satisfies typical North American and EU panel build-outs. Operating temperature is rated -13 to 131 degrees F, covering most unheated and mildly heated industrial cabinets without cold-storage derating.
Footprint and mounting
The body is 3.4 inches wide by 1.2 inches deep by 4.44 inches high, so the rectangular XUX footprint bolts to standard through-beam brackets without a special mount.
Sourcing posture
Supply is quoted to order against an RFQ; the M12 connector format keeps it pin-compatible with the wider XUX series spare ecosystem when a paired emitter or receiver has to be replaced on the same bracket.
