The Square D / Telemecanique XUX9APBNT16 is a polarized retroreflective photoelectric sensor with a PNP NC output, rated for 11 m sensing distance and 12-24 VDC supply, in a rectangular PBT housing. Polarized retroreflective operation uses a reflector and filters out false reflections from shiny object surfaces — a real advantage on conveyor lines with metal parts or glossy packaging. The 11 m range covers long gaps, while the 250 Hz switching frequency and 2 ms response time handle moderate-speed object detection. Output is PNP normally-closed, 3-wire, rated for 100 mA load current.
Installation and Commissioning
Wired via a PG16 cable gland — direct entry, no connector needed. The rectangular PBT body is used. Two LED indicators simplify setup: green for power, yellow for output status. Operating modes include on-delay, off-delay, and solid-state output. Operating temperature range -13 to 131 °F covers most indoor and outdoor enclosure conditions.
