What this tape does in an XU retro-reflective loop
The XUZB11 is the passive reflector target for a Schneider Electric XU-series photoelectric sensor pair — a 1 m strip of non-polarized reflective tape that the sensor's beam bounces off when no separate reflector is mounted. Supplied as a rectangular 25 mm-wide by 1 m-long paper strip (1 mm thick) with a 2000X luminance factor, so it returns enough of the LED pulse for the sensor to read a stable 'target present' state across typical conveyor and door-guarding throw distances.
Format, optical class, and mounting envelope
Format is rectangular and non-polarized, sold as a single 1 m length that the installer cuts down to the required strip length — useful when the target surface is irregular (machined edge, chute lip, tote rim) and a rigid plastic reflector would not sit flush. Maximum operating ceiling is 140 °F (60 °C), so the tape stays bonded to its backing on lineside posts near ovens or warm enclosures but is not specified for high-heat zones above that threshold — pick a metal reflector if the target lives closer to the heat source.
