SIRIUS S00 power contactor for compact motor control
The Siemens 3RT1016-1AW21 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the compact S00 frame, designed for switching motor loads in control panels up to 5.5 kW at 690 V AC. Its 24 VDC coil draws 10 A at the rated value, and the screw-type terminals accept conductors from 0.5 mm² up to 4 mm². The contactor snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, saving panel space at 45 mm width.
Ratings that define the load envelope
The AC-2 rating at 400 V gives 4 kW, suitable for slip-ring motor duty. AC-4 at 400 V is 8.5 A, covering reversing or inching applications. For resistive loads (AC-12), the maximum operating current is 10 A. The main contact voltage rating is 480 V at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with an operating range of 0.8 to 1.1 times rated voltage at 50 Hz and 0.85 to 1.1 at 60 Hz.
Mounting and environmental limits
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail. Side-by-side mounting is allowed without derating, with a minimum 6 mm clearance to the side. Front protection is IP20; the terminal area is also IP20. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, and the maximum installation altitude is 2 000 m. Pollution degree 3 means it tolerates conductive pollution in industrial environments.
