What It Is and Where It Fits
The Siemens 3RT2016-1AP01-ZX95 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the compact Size S00 frame, designed for switching motor loads and resistive loads in industrial control panels. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, and the mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface plus ±22.5° tilt forward/backward, giving flexibility in tight enclosures. The coil is 24 VDC with screw-type terminals, and the contactor carries an auxiliary switch block. The auxiliary contacts are rated at 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 0.2 A at 440 V — these are the maximum resistive (AC-1) or general-use ratings, so for inductive loads like contactor coils or small relays, derate accordingly.
Switching Frequency and Duty Cycle
The contactor's maximum switching rate depends on the duty category: 1,000 operations per hour for AC-1 (resistive), 750 ops/h for AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 ops/h for AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating also caps at 750 ops/h. These limits reflect the thermal recovery time of the arc chamber — exceeding them shortens contact life or causes welding.
Wiring and Environmental Limits
Main and auxiliary terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², with dual-wire capability: 2×(0.5–1.5 mm²), 2×(0.75–2.5 mm²), or 2×4 mm². Operating temperature range is –25 °C to +60 °C; storage range is –55 °C to +80 °C. The contactor's dimensions — 45 mm wide, 58 mm high, 73 mm deep — fit standard 45 mm modular spacing, and the 10 mm clearance above/below/side is typical for heat dissipation and arc venting.
