Switching Frequency and Duty Cycle
The contactor's maximum switching rate depends on the duty category: 1,000 operations per hour for AC-1 (resistive), 750 ops/h for AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 ops/h for AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating also caps at 750 ops/h. These limits reflect the thermal recovery time of the arc chamber — exceeding them shortens contact life or causes welding.
Wiring and Environmental Limits
Main and auxiliary terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², with dual-wire capability: 2×(0.5–1.5 mm²), 2×(0.75–2.5 mm²), or 2×4 mm². The contactor's dimensions — 45 mm wide, 58 mm high, 73 mm deep — fit standard 45 mm modular spacing, and the 10 mm clearance above/below/side is typical for heat dissipation and arc venting.
