SIRIUS S3 Contactor, 24 V AC Coil — Panel Integration Note
The Siemens 3RT2446-1AC20 is a SIRIUS-branded Size S3 contactor with a 24 V AC 50/60 Hz coil, screw-type terminals, and an integrated auxiliary switch. It fastens via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward — useful when fitting into a crowded panel where orientation is constrained.
Main power circuit accepts stranded conductors from 6 to 70 mm². The auxiliary switch terminates on screw terminals accepting solid wire 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75–2.5 mm²). Coil connections are also screw-type.
Environmental Range and Clearances
The 70 mm width, 140 mm height, and 152 mm depth define the DIN-rail footprint. Slot it into a panel with those gaps and it won't thermally derate under normal convection.
Switching Performance
Arcing time is 10–20 ms; at AC the contactor operates in 10–21 ms. The auxiliary contact is rated for resistive loads: 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V.
