SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker, Class 10, 100 kA
The Siemens 3RV2011-0EA15-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed for motor protection, with a Class 10 trip characteristic. It delivers a 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC, meaning it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without cascading upstream — critical for panel SCCR compliance in industrial distribution. The unit mounts via screw and snap-on onto a 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715, fitting into any standard control panel enclosure. At 45 mm wide and 97 mm deep, it occupies a single modular slot, leaving room for adjacent contactors or overloads in a motor starter lineup. Phase failure detection is built in, so the breaker trips on loss of a phase — a common cause of motor burnout in three-phase systems. Ground fault detection is not included, so that function must be handled separately if required.
Integration and wiring
Screw-type terminals on the main current circuit accept 2x (0.5... 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded conductors. The auxiliary contact block handles 1 A at 24 V, 0.5 A at 120/125/230 V, and 0.15 A at 60 V — check your control voltage against these ratings for signal compatibility. Mounting position is any, giving flexibility in tight panels. Required clearances: 50 mm upwards and downwards, 30 mm at the side for heat dissipation and arc flash containment. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C with temperature compensation active across that span, so the trip curve stays accurate in warm cabinets near drives or transformers.
