What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-0JA10-ZW96 is a motor protection circuit breaker designed to protect induction motors against overload and short-circuit faults. It integrates a Class 10 trip characteristic, meaning it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — fast enough to protect standard squirrel-cage motors during locked-rotor conditions. The breaker also includes phase failure detection, which prevents single-phasing damage on a three-phase motor.
Breaking capacity and coordination
Rated short-circuit breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 400 V AC and holds the same figure at 500 V and 690 V AC. That is a Type 2 coordination rating — the breaker clears a bolted fault without welding its own contacts or damaging the upstream contactor, assuming the manufacturer's coordination tables are followed. The 100 kA figure holds across the full 400–690 V range, which is unusual for a 45 mm-wide device; most compact breakers derate above 480 V.
Mounting and panel fit
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The 45 mm width and 97 mm depth mean it occupies a single 45 mm module on the rail — no extra side clearance needed for the actuator mechanism. Clearance requirements: 50 mm above and below, zero forward or backward, and 30 mm to the side. Any mounting position is permitted.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
The lifecycle stage is recorded as current production. No phase-out notice or last-time-buy date is on record. The part is sourced and quoted to order through independent distribution; availability and current pricing are confirmed at quote time against an RFQ.
