The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-1CA15-ZX95 is a motor protection circuit breaker designed for Class 10 trip characteristics, meaning it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — standard for protecting standard induction motors during start-up. It offers a 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V, so it can safely interrupt high fault currents without upstream fuses in most panel applications. Phase failure detection is built in, which prevents single-phasing damage on three-phase motor loads. Mounting is via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, and the unit fits any orientation.
Breaking capacity and selectivity
The 100 kA rated short-circuit breaking capacity at 400 V (Icu per IEC 60947-2) means this breaker can clear faults up to that level without needing a backup fuse. At 690 V the rating drops to 10 kA — still adequate for most 690 V motor circuits, but verify coordination with upstream protective devices if the available fault current exceeds that. The gL/gG fuse ratings for the main contacts are 25 A up to 500 V, and 20 A at 690 V, giving a clear selectivity window.
Integration and wiring
The 45 mm width fits standard 45 mm wide DIN-rail slots, matching the footprint of the SIRIUS 3RV2 series. Main contact terminals accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, with M3 screw terminals. Auxiliary contact ratings: 1 A at 24 V, 0.5 A at 120/125/230 V, 0.15 A at 60 V — enough for PLC inputs or contactor coils within those limits. Ambient operation range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. Minimum clearance: 50 mm above and below, 30 mm to the side, zero forward/backward.
