Motor protection circuit breaker, 45 mm wide, Trip Class 10
The Siemens 3RV2011-1CA25-ZW96 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed for motor protection, with phase failure detection and a Trip Class 10 characteristic. It mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, in any mounting position, making it a standard panel fit for motor control centers and distribution boards. Rated for operational voltages from 20 to 690 V, it delivers a short-circuit breaking capacity of 100 kA at 400 V — meaning it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without upstream fuses needing to clear the fault, a critical spec for high-fault-capacity industrial panels. The main circuit connects via spring-loaded terminals accepting 2x (0.5 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, a time-saver on the wiring bench compared to screw clamps. Auxiliary contact ratings are 1 A at 24 V, 0.5 A at 120/125/230 V, and 0.15 A at 60 V.
Panel integration and clearances
At 45 mm wide and 97 mm deep, this breaker occupies a single 45 mm slot on the DIN rail. Required clearances: 50 mm upward, 50 mm downward, 30 mm to the side, zero forward and backward — so adjacent devices can be packed tightly in the depth axis. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. The trip curve is rated for Class 10, meaning it disconnects within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting current — standard for protecting standard induction motors during a locked-rotor condition.
