Motor protection circuit breaker for DIN-rail panels
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-1CA25-ZW97 is a motor protection circuit breaker with Class 10 trip characteristics. It mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 via screw or snap-on, and the 45 mm width (3 TE) fits standard panel layout grids. Spring-loaded terminals accept 2x (0.5 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded conductors, so no ferrule crimping is required for the main circuit connection.
Breaking capacity and fault coordination
Rated breaking capacity reaches 100 kA at 240 V, 400 V, and 500 V, dropping to 10 kA at 690 V — this SCCR allows the breaker to clear high-fault currents upstream of a motor starter without cascading to the main breaker. The unit includes phase failure detection, so a lost phase on the line side will trip the breaker — critical for preventing single-phasing damage on a three-phase motor. Rated operational voltage spans 20 to 690 V AC, covering most low-voltage motor circuits from control transformers up to 690 V line supplies.
Mounting and clearance dimensions
Overall dimensions are 45 mm wide, 106 mm high, and 97 mm deep — the depth is the body depth behind the panel face, so verify enclosure depth clearance. Required clearances around the breaker: 50 mm above and below, 30 mm to the side, and 0 mm forward/backward from the mounting surface — this means side-by-side stacking is allowed with zero gap, but vertical spacing must be maintained for heat dissipation.
Environmental and storage limits
Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C — the wider storage limit governs handling during shipping and warehouse idle periods, not running conditions. Mounting position is any orientation, which simplifies panel layout when space is constrained.
