Motor protection breaker — CLASS 10 trip and phase-failure detection
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2011-1HA15-ZW96 is a motor protection circuit breaker designed to protect three-phase induction motors against overload, short-circuit, and phase failure. Its CLASS 10 trip characteristic means it will open within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — fast enough to protect most standard IEC motors during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal starting inrush. Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost phase on the line side will trip the breaker before single-phasing damages the motor winding.
SCCR and interrupting capacity — 100 kA at 400 V
Rated short-circuit breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 400 V and 100 kA at 240 V, dropping to 42 kA at 500 V and 4 kA at 690 V. That 100 kA at 400 V means this breaker can safely interrupt a fault up to that level without cascading upstream — important for panel SCCR compliance when the available fault current at the panelboard is high. The 690 V rating of 4 kA still covers most motor branch circuits on 690 V systems, but verify the upstream fuse or breaker coordination if your fault current exceeds that.
DIN-rail mounting and terminal details
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715 — the same rail used across the SIRIUS contactor and overload range, so it integrates directly into a motor starter combo. Width is 45 mm, depth 97 mm, height 97 mm. Main circuit connections are screw-type terminals accepting 2× (0.5 … 1.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2× (0.75 … 2.5 mm²). Mounting position any, so it fits in horizontal or vertical rail orientation without derating.
