Motor protection circuit breaker, SIRIUS 3RV2011-1JA10-0BA0
The Siemens 3RV2011-1JA10-0BA0 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker in size S00, designed to protect motors against overload, short circuit, and phase failure. It snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with screw-type terminals for the main current circuit. Trip Class 10 means it clears a locked-rotor condition fast enough to protect standard induction motors from overheating during start-up — the standard choice for most pump, fan, and conveyor drives. Rated breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 400 V AC, which gives you headroom on high-fault panels without needing an upstream current-limiting fuse. At 690 V it still holds 6 kA AC, covering most 690 V distribution.
Sizing and coordination
The gG fuse backup limits: at 400 V it coordinates with a 50 A gG fuse, at 500 V and 690 V with 40 A gG. That matters for selectivity — if the breaker sees a fault beyond its interrupting rating, the upstream fuse clears instead of the breaker failing. Power rating at 230 V is 2.2 kW, which lines up with a standard 3 HP motor at 230 V single-phase or a small three-phase motor. Phase failure detection is built in — critical for preventing single-phasing damage on delta-connected motors.
Mounting and clearances
The breaker occupies 45 mm width on the DIN rail, 97 mm deep. It needs 50 mm clearance upward and downward, 30 mm to the side, and zero forward or backward — so it fits tight against the back panel. Screw terminals accept up to 2x 2.5 mm² or 2x 4 mm² solid/stranded. Mounting position is any, which helps in crowded enclosures where you might need to rotate the rail. Fastening is screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail — no tools needed for the snap, but the M3 screws for the main terminals need a Pozidriv size 2 tip.
