This matters for a panel that runs warm; you don't lose headroom until the ambient passes 50 °C. The TM210 overcurrent release is a fixed thermal-magnetic trip — no electronic adjustment, no communication function, no voltage trigger, and no phase-failure detection. It's a straight line-protection device for standard feeder or distribution duty where you don't need selectivity tuning or remote monitoring.
Breaking capacity — the voltage-dependent curve
Breaking capacity varies sharply with system voltage: 52.5 kA at 240 V, 32 kA at 415 V, 13.6 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. For a 480 V panel (common in North America) the relevant figure is the 415 V or 440 V rating — expect around 32 to 13.6 kA depending on your exact line voltage. That's adequate for most secondary distribution but not for high-fault utility entrance positions.
