1-pole MCCB, 32 A, TM210 — line protection for panel feeders
The Siemens SENTRON 3VM1132-3ED12-0AA0 is a 1-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 32 A continuous at 40 °C, with a thermal-magnetic TM210 release configured for LI (long-time and instantaneous) protection. It is designated for line protection — meaning it sits on the feeder side of a panel, not on a motor branch or a downstream sub-distribution. The interrupting capacity is 53 kA at 240 VAC and 7.5 kA at 415 VAC, which gives headroom for high-fault installations where the available fault current is substantial at the lower voltage. The fixed instantaneous trip is set at 320 A (10× In), so it clears hard faults fast without nuisance tripping on moderate inrush. This breaker occupies a single 25.4 mm (1 in) module width on the DIN rail, with a depth of 70 mm and height of 130 mm. The front face carries IP40 protection — suitable for enclosed panel mounting where dust ingress is limited. Power dissipation at rated load is 3.5 W maximum, which matters for thermal budgeting inside a sealed enclosure.
Current rating holds flat to 50 °C, then derates gradually
The 32 A rating is stable from 40 °C through 50 °C — no derating needed in a typical panel ambient. At 55 °C it drops to 31 A, and at 70 °C it holds at 30 A. That flat profile simplifies panel design: you don't need to oversize for a warm cabinet unless ambient exceeds 50 °C. The operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C, with storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
DC capability and voltage limits
The maximum rated operational voltage for DC applications is 125 V. The insulation voltage (Ui) is rated 500 V. For DC switching capacity values, Siemens directs users to the 3VA Molded Case Circuit Breaker Manual. The breaker does not include a neutral conductor upgrade option, ground-fault monitoring, or communication function.
