CPU 315-2 PN/DP — 16 kbyte work memory, PROFINET onboard
The Siemens 6ES7315-2EG10-0AB0 is an S7-300 CPU with 16 kbyte work memory, 244 byte inputs and 244 byte outputs, and an integrated PROFINET interface supporting TCP/IP via loadable function blocks. It runs STEP 7 V5.3 SP1 or higher and supports LAD, FBD, STL, SCL, GRAPH, and HiGraph® programming languages. The module measures 80 x 125 x 130 mm and fits a standard S7-300 DIN-rail mounting profile.
PROFINET and communication — integrated interface, no MPI
This CPU carries one integrated PROFINET interface that can act as both client and server, using loadable FBs or a CP module. It supports routing and RS 485, but has no MPI port. For additional connectivity, it can handle up to 4 CP modules via the backplane, 10 CP modules on a LAN, and 8 CP modules for PtP connections.
Memory and retentivity — 16 kbyte work memory, 6-week backup
Work memory is fixed at 16 kbyte maximum and is not expandable. The CPU provides retentive memory for inputs, outputs, memory bits, DBs, times, and counters, but it must be restarted at each restart. Backup time is 6 weeks at 40 °C ambient temperature. Forcing is supported, and the preset memory configuration has no retentivity by default.
