Frame size R11 tells the cabinet planner the physical envelope and bus-bar layout. This is a three-phase module accepting 380-415 V input at 47.5-63 Hz, so it covers 50 Hz and 60 Hz grids without reconfiguration. IP20 protection means it mounts inside an enclosure — no washdown rating, no outdoor exposure. The open-type NEMA classification confirms it needs a clean, dry cabinet with proper clearance for airflow and arc flash containment.
Duty ratings — which one governs your load
The 725 A normal-use rating (400 kW) fits centrifugal pumps, fans, and general conveyors where overload is light and infrequent. Heavy-duty at 566 A (315 kW) is the figure for extruders, crushers, or hoists that demand sustained torque at low speed. Light-overload at 715 A (400 kW) sits between them — useful for applications with occasional peak demand but not continuous hard duty. A common mistake is sizing on the normal-use number alone. If your motor draws 600 A during a start cycle that lasts 60 seconds, the heavy-duty curve is the one that keeps the module out of thermal trip. The datasheet's overload profile (not shown here) would confirm the exact time-current boundary.
Cabinet integration notes
Frame R11 drives the mounting footprint and bus-bar centers. Verify the cabinet depth allows for the DC-link bus bars and the optional braking chopper if your application needs dynamic braking. The IP20 enclosure means no gland plate sealing — route cables through the cabinet's own entry points and maintain separation between power and control wiring per the installation manual.
