Sizing against load profiles — normal vs heavy duty
The 3ABD00039372-D: Two current ratings let you match the drive to the application's duty cycle. Normal-use (light-overload) delivers 400 kW / 725 A for constant-torque loads like pumps and fans. Heavy-duty use drops to 315 kW / 566 A — that's the figure to size against for conveyors, crushers, or extruders where peak torque events are frequent. If your motor plate says 315 kW and the load profile is cyclic, the heavy-duty column is your design point.
Active lifecycle — no end-of-line risk
This module carries an active lifecycle status from ABB — no planned discontinuation, no last-time-buy window to manage. Standard lead times apply through the distribution channel. For BOM freeze or multi-year project planning, this part is safe to specify without obsolescence contingency.
Panel integration notes — IP20, IE2, and WEEE
IP20 rating means the drive is not protected against water ingress or dust accumulation — mount inside a cabinet with at least IP54 enclosure to meet typical industrial environments. IE2 efficiency class satisfies minimum energy performance standards in most regions; if your project requires IE3 or IE4, this module is not the fit. WEEE category 4 (Large Equipment) applies for end-of-life recycling reporting in EU markets.
