Drive ratings and duty selection
The ABB 3AXD50000038997 is an ACH580-01 wall-mounted LV AC drive built for HVAC fan and pump control. Normal-use output is 22 kW at 45 A on 400 V three-phase supply, with a heavy-duty rating of 18.5 kW at 37.7 A for higher-torque loads like compressors or conveyors. Light-overload duty delivers 22.0 kW at 42.8 A, so the 45 A normal-use figure is the one to size branch protection and cabling against. Input accepts 380 to 480 V at 47.5 to 63 Hz — covers 50/60 Hz grids globally. Standby loss is 16 W, and the drive is rated IE2 efficiency class. Sound pressure at 76 dB(A) means it is audible in a mechanical room but not objectionable next to a chiller.

Ambient temperature max 40 °C, altitude 1000 m without derating — above that, expect current reduction. Operating humidity up to 95% RH non-condensing. The drive includes a control unit and a lithium coin cell (CR2032, 220 mAh) for real-time clock backup. Two analog inputs and two analog outputs are available for pressure or temperature transducers; six digital inputs and three digital outputs handle start/stop, fault reset, and status feedback.
