Drive selection memo — HVAC duty
The ABB 3AXD50000039004 is an ACH580-01 wall-mounted drive sized for a 5.5 kW motor on 380-480 V three-phase supply. Normal-use output current is 12.6 A; heavy-duty use drops to 4.0 kW / 9.4 A. Light-overload use (typical for fan/pump cycling) holds at 5.5 kW / 12.0 A. The IP55 / NEMA Type12 enclosure handles washdown areas and dusty mechanical rooms — no additional cabinet required. Communication is BACnet out of the box; no industrial Ethernet onboard, so if the BMS expects Modbus TCP, plan a gateway or specify the variant with the Ethernet option.
The kit includes the drive with control unit — no separate control panel to order. A CR2032 lithium coin cell (220 mAh, 3 V) is fitted for real-time clock backup. Standby loss is 14 W; full-load power consumption runs 213 W. Frame size R1, wall-mounted. The kit is complete for a standard install: drive, control unit, battery, and the IP55 gland plate. No holes in the box.
