Duty ratings — which number governs your load
The 3AXD50000039020: This drive carries three distinct output-current ratings, and the one that governs your motor selection depends on the load profile. Normal use (In) is 9.4 A at 4 kW, suitable for constant-torque applications like conveyors. Light-overload use (IlD) is 8.9 A at 4 kW, for variable-torque loads such as fans and pumps. Heavy-duty use (IhD) drops to 7.2 A at 3 kW, for high starting torque or cyclic loads.
Integration constraints
Communication is limited to CAN; there are no industrial Ethernet interfaces on this variant. The six digital inputs and three digital outputs are adequate for standalone pump control with a pressure transducer on one of the two analog inputs and a flowmeter on the second. Standby loss is 14 W, so the drive draws minimal power when the motor is stopped. Ambient temperature is capped at 40 °C, with full output current available up to that point; derate above 40 °C per the thermal curve. The wall-mount form factor and IP21 rating mean it goes into a clean indoor panel, not a washdown area.
