How it sits against the M8 sibling
Compared to the E2F-X1R5F1 (M8 body, same 2mm shielded range, IP68): the M12 form factor here provides a stiffer mounting base and higher typical torque capacity for vibration-prone brackets. Wiring is identical — 3-wire PNP NO — so a swap only requires upsizing the mounting hole from 8mm to 12mm.
Mounting and wiring
Threads into a standard M12 hole; shielded sensing face allows flush mounting in metal without derating the 2mm range. The 2m cable has bare wire ends — strip 8mm, use ferrule, terminate to a PNP input. The integral indicator light confirms output state during commissioning.
