It protects a single outgoing final circuit against overload, short-circuit (thermal-magnetic trip, C-curve 5...10 x In), and earth leakage at 100 mA sensitivity. Rated 40 A with 6 kA breaking capacity at 230...240 V AC, 50 Hz, it clips onto a DIN rail and is intended for distribution boards in residential or light commercial installations.
The 40 A rated current and C-curve (5–10 x In magnetic trip) means this RCBO is sized for general-purpose resistive and moderate inductive loads — lighting, socket outlets, small appliances — not for motor starting or high-inrush circuits where a D-curve would be needed. Integrated 100 mA earth-leakage protection (sensitivity) provides fire protection and indirect-contact protection, not personal shock protection (that requires 30 mA or lower). Typical placement is as an outgoer in the distribution board, protecting a circuit where the loop impedance or equipment leakage makes a separate RCD + MCB combination desirable.
Clip-on mounting to DIN rail (EN 60715). The module occupies 4 pitches at 9 mm per pole — 36 mm total width. Neutral is on the left. Terminals accept 1–16 mm² rigid or 1–10 mm² flexible (with or without ferrule); strip length 15 mm, tightening torque 2 N.m. IP20 rated (IP40 in modular enclosure).
Limitation class 3 per that standard.
