Arc fault detection circuit breaker, 6 A C-curve, 1P+N
The Schneider Electric A9FDB606 is an Acti9 iDPN N Arc arc fault detection circuit breaker (AFDD) combining overcurrent protection with series arc-fault detection in a single 1P+N module. Rated 6 A at 30 °C with a C-curve magnetic trip (5...10 x In), it breaks 6000 A Icn at 230 V AC 50 Hz per EN/IEC 60898-1. The thermal-magnetic trip unit covers overload and short-circuit; the arc-fault electronics detect hazardous series arcing downstream and trip the circuit independently of the overcurrent mechanism.
The 6 kA breaking capacity at 230 V AC is the maximum fault current it can safely interrupt; this matches typical domestic and light commercial panel fault levels (IEC 60898-1). Limitation class 3 means it restricts let-through energy under short-circuit, reducing stress on downstream wiring and devices.
Clip-on mounting to DIN rail, 36 mm wide (2 modular spaces), 81 mm tall, 72 mm deep. Neutral on the left, phase on the right — tunnel terminals accept up to 16 mm² rigid or 10 mm² flexible (single cable), or 2.5 mm² for two cables. Tightening torque 2 N·m, strip length 14 mm. The 9 mm pitch between phase and neutral terminals matches standard Acti9 busbar spacing.
