The Schneider Electric A9N16201 is an Acti9 xID residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) — a 2-pole device rated for 25 A continuous current with 30 mA earth-leakage sensitivity. The 30 mA threshold is the standard for personal protection against fatal electric shock in residential and commercial final circuits.
Rated at 25 A (In) with a breaking capacity of 500 A per IEC 61008-1. The 30 mA sensitivity trips on leakage to ground, protecting personnel. Type AC covers sinusoidal residual currents — common for resistive and inductive loads without electronics. If the circuit feeds switched-mode power supplies, VFDs, or LED drivers that generate pulsed or DC fault currents, Type A or Type B RCCBs would be needed instead. The 2-pole (2P) configuration switches both phase and neutral. Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 500 V AC, and the operational voltage range is 230-240 V AC — single-phase line-to-neutral supplies. Terminals accept 1-35 mm² rigid or 1-25 mm² flexible cable. The tunnel-type terminals allow daisy-chaining or looping through. IP20 rated — install inside an enclosure rated for the environment.
Designed and tested to IEC 61008-1 and EN 61008-2-1 — the international and European standards for residual current operated circuit-breakers without integral overcurrent protection. The device is suitable for isolation (disconnector function) and has a contact position indicator showing ON, OFF, or fault trip. A padlocking device can lock it in the OFF position for safe maintenance.
