Curve C means the magnetic trip operates at 5 to 10 times rated current (10–20 A for this 2 A unit). For high-inrush loads (transformers, large motors) a D curve would be needed. Thermal-magnetic trip technology combines a bimetal strip for overload protection and a solenoid for short-circuit.
