The Schneider Electric A9N2P16CGN is an Acti9 xC60 miniature circuit-breaker — 2-pole, 16 A rated current, C-curve, with a 10 kA breaking capacity at 240 V AC per IS/IEC 60898-1. It clips onto a 35 mm DIN rail, making it a standard panel fit for distribution boards in commercial and light industrial builds.
C-curve and breaking capacity — what they mean for your board
The C-curve (magnetic trip at 5–10 × In) means this breaker handles moderate inrush from motor starters, small transformers, and lighting ballasts without nuisance tripping — typical for general distribution. The 16 A rating on 2 poles protects both phase and neutral in a single module, saving rail space. Breaking capacity of 10 kA at 240 V AC (also 10 kA at 415 V AC) is the fault current it can safely interrupt without welding or arcing through the enclosure. That rating meets the IS/IEC 60898-1 standard for domestic and commercial panels; if your available fault current exceeds 10 kA at the board, you need an upstream current-limiting device or a higher-rated breaker.
Panel fit and wiring
Clip-on mounting on 35 mm DIN rail, 36 mm wide (4 × 9 mm pitches). Tunnel terminals accept up to 25 mm² rigid or 16 mm² flexible; strip length 13 mm. Tightening torque 2 N·m. IP20 finger-safe front, pollution degree 3 — fine for a clean indoor panel, not for washdown zones.
