The Schneider Electric A9P54716 is a 16 A C-curve miniature circuit breaker from the Acti9 iC40N series, configured as 3P+N. It carries a dual rating to EN/IEC 60898-1 (6 kA Icn at 400 V AC) and EN/IEC 60947-2 (10 kA Icu at 400 V AC), which means it can be specified for either domestic-distribution or industrial-panel applications where the higher breaking capacity is needed for fault coordination. The thermal-magnetic trip unit provides C-curve protection (magnetic trip at 5–10× In per 60898-1, 8× In ±20% per 60947-2), suited for mixed resistive and moderate inductive loads like lighting circuits, small motor starters, and general-purpose branch protection.
Breaking capacity and dual-standard rating
The 6 kA Icn under EN/IEC 60898-1 is the domestic/commercial rating, sufficient for most final distribution circuits. Having both on one nameplate means the same part can be stocked for both job types, simplifying BOM management for an integrator who works across residential and light-industrial sites.
Clip-on mounting to DIN rail (35 mm symmetrical rail per EN 60715) with a 54 mm width (6 x 9 mm pitches). The 3P+N configuration places the neutral pole on the left, with the toggle control providing ON/OFF and trip-indicator local signalling. Tunnel-type terminals accept 1–16 mm² rigid or 1–10 mm² flexible conductors; tightening torque is 2 N·m.
Quality labels include OVE, IMQ, and AENOR. Earth-leakage protection requires a separate Vigi block — not integrated.
