The A9TYA4225 is an Acti9 VigiARC iC60 add-on block that combines arc fault detection with residual current protection in a single 2-pole module. The 25 A rated current and 230 V AC operational voltage suit it for final circuits supplying socket outlets, lighting, or small appliances in residential or light commercial panels where the standard demands AFDD + RCD in one device.
The 30 mA earth-leakage sensitivity is Type A-SI (Super Immunised), meaning it handles pulsed DC fault currents and resists nuisance tripping from high-frequency inverter or LED-driver leakage — a common pain point in modern panels where non-linear loads are present. The arc fault detection follows EN/IEC 62606, so it discriminates between harmless arcs (motor brush noise, switch arcing) and dangerous series/parallel arcs that cause electrical fires. Voltage-independent residual current tripping means the RCD function operates even if the neutral is lost upstream — the trip coil draws its energy from the fault itself, not the supply. Rated insulation voltage is 400 V AC, impulse withstand 4 kV, and pollution degree 2 — standard for a clean indoor distribution board. The 50 Hz network frequency and 2-pole configuration (switched phase + switched neutral, neutral left) match the common single-phase final circuit layout across Europe and many other 50 Hz territories.
IP20 finger-safe terminals are fine for enclosed distribution boards; no washdown rating here.
Field diagnostics and data
Local signalling includes ON/OFF position and a fault-trip LED with arc fault diagnostic — the LED distinguishes between arc fault trips and earth-leakage trips, saving a service call to identify the cause. Electrical data recording logs date, time, and maintenance indicators, which helps track recurring faults on a circuit.
