The Schneider Electric A9TYAE225 is an Active arc-fault detection device with residual-current protection — a combined AFDD + RCD add-on block from the Acti9 VigiARC iC60 range. Rated at 25 A continuous on a 230 V AC network (50 Hz), with an insulation voltage of 400 V AC. The trip threshold for overvoltage is 275 V ±5 V — meaning it catches sustained swells that could start a fire in loose connections or degraded insulation.
Built to EN/IEC 62606 (arc-fault detection devices), EN/IEC 61009-1 (RCBOs), and EN/IEC 61009-2-1 (functional). Earth-leakage protection is Type A-SI (Super Immunised), which means it resists nuisance tripping from high-frequency harmonics or transient surges common on inverter-fed circuits or long cable runs.
Clip-on mount on standard DIN rail (35 mm), 2-pitch wide (9 mm per pitch). Dimensions: 91 mm high, 54 mm wide, 73 mm deep. Terminals accept 0.2–2.5 mm² solid or stranded wire; strip length 14 mm, tighten to 2 N·m. Pollution degree 2 (normal, non-conductive). Ambient storage range -40 to 85 °C, tropicalised to severity B per IEC 60068-2-30 for 28 days — survives the nacelle or a humid panel room.
Signalling and diagnostics
Local signalling includes ON, OFF, fault-trip LED, and an arc-fault diagnostic indicator. Records date/time of events and maintenance indicators — compatible with EcoStruxure Panel Server (Entry, Advanced, Universal) for remote monitoring. Accuracy for voltage, current, and power is ±2 %; power factor measurement is ±5 %. Electrical durability: 20,000 cycles at ≤25 A, 10,000 cycles above. Mechanical durability: 20,000 cycles.
