The Schneider Electric A9V61363 is an add-on residual current device (RCD) from the Acti9 Vigi iC60 range, designed to clip onto the side of an iC60 MCB to add earth-leakage protection to that circuit. It is a voltage-independent, instantaneous-trip unit rated at 63 A with a 30 mA sensitivity, Type A-SI (Super Immunised) — meaning it handles pulsed DC fault currents and resists nuisance tripping from high-frequency harmonics common on modern electronic loads. The 3-pole version operates at 400-415 V AC, 50/60 Hz, and mounts on a standard DIN rail via the clip-on mechanism, occupying 7 x 9 mm pitches (117 mm width).
The 63 A rated current (In) sets the maximum continuous load this RCD can carry — sized for a 63 A feeder, not the load side of a smaller MCB. The 30 mA sensitivity is the standard threshold for personnel protection (shock risk) per IEC 60364. Type A-SI (Super Immunised) means it is tested to withstand 8/20 µs impulse currents up to 3000 A without tripping, so it stays stable on circuits with surge suppressors or variable-speed drives upstream. The instantaneous trip (no intentional delay) makes it suitable for direct fault clearing, but coordination with downstream RCDs needs selectivity analysis — an instantaneous 30 mA unit will trip before a time-delayed 300 mA at the submain.
This is an outgoer device — it protects a final subcircuit, not the main incomer. The clip-on mounting attaches directly to the right side of an iC60 MCB, sharing the same DIN-rail footprint. The tunnel-type terminals at the bottom accept 1 to 35 mm² rigid cable (or 1 to 25 mm² flexible with/without ferrule), tightened to 3.5 N·m. The bottom connection also accepts comb busbars, so multiple Vigi iC60 units can be fed from a common distribution bar. IP20 rated for the device body; IP40 when enclosed in a modular enclosure per IEC 60529.
