Safety-rated drive with SIL 3 STO
The ATH230D11N4 carries SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and PL e per ISO 13849-1 for its Safe Torque Off function — that means the drive can be wired into a safety circuit without an external contactor for the stop function, saving panel space and wiring time. The STO input is on a dedicated 24 V DC discrete input (1.5 kOhm impedance), so it's electrically isolated from the logic inputs — a detail that matters when you're separating the safety chain from the control PLC.
Fieldbus and I/O complement
Comes with a BACnet IP option card pre-installed, plus a 2-wire RS 485 port for Modbus serial or BACnet MS/TP — so it talks to both a BMS and a local PLC without extra hardware. The three analogue inputs cover voltage (0–10 V), bipolar differential (±10 V), and current (0–20 mA configurable), which covers most HVAC sensor types — duct static pressure, temperature, or CO2 — without signal conditioners. Six digital logic inputs plus a dedicated STO input; one of the logic inputs (DI5) can be programmed as a pulse input up to 30 kHz for flowmeter or encoder feedback.
Protection and environmental coverage
Built-in protection covers line phase loss, motor phase loss, overvoltage, undervoltage, overheating, motor overload (with PTC probe input), short-circuit between motor phases, and earth faults — so the drive handles most fault conditions without an external motor protection relay. Rated for pollution degree 2 and 5–95 % relative humidity without condensation, with an altitude derating starting at 1000 m (1 % per 100 m).
Approvals include cULus, CE, UKCA, KC, EAC, ATEX, and RCM — covers North America, Europe, Korea, Eurasia, and Australia for machine builders shipping globally.
