Active production — what that means for procurement
The ATV1200A14305555: Sourced through authorized distribution channels against your BOM quantity.
Power rating and overload — sizing the drive to the load
Rated for 1195 kW motor power with 1430 kVA apparent power. The 30-pulse diode rectifier bridge on a 2970-3630 V supply gives you the input harmonics profile a utility or plant distribution engineer expects for a drive this size — no external filter needed for most grid codes. Overload capability: 1.2 In for 60 s standard duty, 1.5 In for 3 s. High-overload profile pushes to 1.5 In for 60 s and 1.85 In for 3 s. That second profile is what you spec for a crusher, centrifuge, or any load that pulls hard on start or jogs.
Physical footprint and construction — this is not a panel-mount drive
Floor-standing enclosure with separate air flows for the transformer and power cells. Dimensions: 2820 mm tall, 3960 mm wide (high efficiency) or 3660 mm wide (standard efficiency), depth 1600 mm (high efficiency) or 1500 mm (standard efficiency). You need a concrete pad and overhead crane access for installation — this isn't a DIN-rail job. The drive ships as a composed assembly: 2 x plinth, phase-shifting transformer, medium-voltage arrestors, cooling fans, HMI, and 15 power cells. Forced convection cooling pulls 29900 m³/h (standard efficiency) or 33200 m³/h (high efficiency) — plan the room ventilation accordingly.
I/O and control supply — what to wire in
Four software-configurable analog inputs (0-20 mA / 4-20 mA, 24 V max, 250 Ohm impedance) and two analog outputs of the same type. Discrete inputs: 6 standard, expandable to 10 optional. The control supply is 220 V AC at 3 kVA external; the cooling fan runs on a separate 380 V AC supply — don't share the control transformer with the fan circuit. Electrical isolation between power and control. Dielectric strength tested at 20 kV AC between earth and power terminals — that's the hipot number the commissioning engineer signs off on.
Standards and compliance — what the CE mark covers
CE marked. Complies with EN/IEC 60204-11 (machinery safety), EN/IEC 60529 (enclosure protection), EN/IEC 61800-3 (EMC for drive systems), EN/IEC 61800-4 (drive performance), and EN/IEC 61800-5-1 (electrical safety). The integrated EMC filter covers conducted emissions for the typical industrial environment. Pollution degree 2 per EN/IEC 61800-5-1, overvoltage category II. Prospective line short-circuit current rated at 31.5 kA for 150 ms — the upstream protection must coordinate with that withstand.
