Floor-standing MV drive, 470 kVA, for synchronous or asynchronous motors
The ATV1200A4706060 is a medium voltage drive from the Altivar 1200 series, delivering 470 kVA apparent power and rated for 393 kW motor output on synchronous or asynchronous machines. Supply voltage range is 2970 to 3630 V, fed through a 30-pulse diode rectifier bridge that keeps line harmonics low enough to meet EN/IEC 61800-3 without external filtering. The drive is assembled in a floor-standing enclosure with separate air flows for power and control sections, and includes an integrated EMC filter.
Physical footprint and cooling demand
Standard efficiency configuration measures 1400 mm deep, 2860 mm wide, and 2590 mm tall; the high-efficiency variant adds 100 mm to depth, 300 mm to width, and 150 mm to height. Cooling is forced convection requiring 16,600 m³/h airflow for standard efficiency and 19,900 m³/h for high efficiency — the fan supply is 380 V AC internal, with an optional external supply. Noise level at full cooling is 80 dB, so ear protection is expected near the enclosure during operation.
Overload profile and protection
Standard overload rating handles 1.2× rated current for 60 seconds and 1.5× for 3 seconds; the high overload profile extends to 1.5× for 60 seconds and 1.85× for 3 seconds. Ground fault protection is built into the drive, and dielectric strength between earth and power terminals is tested at 20 kV AC. The prospective short-circuit current rating is 31.5 kA for 150 ms, giving selectivity headroom in medium voltage distribution.
CE marked and designed to EN/IEC 60204-11, EN/IEC 60529, EN/IEC 61800-3, EN/IEC 61800-4, and EN/IEC 61800-5-1 standards. The drive composition includes a phase-shifting transformer, medium voltage arrestors, cooling fans, HMI, and 15 power cells — all housed in a grey RAL 7032 enclosure.
I/O and control interface
Four software-configurable analogue inputs accept 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA signals at 24 V max with 250 Ohm impedance; two analogue outputs mirror the same current ranges. Six discrete inputs are standard, expandable to ten; control supply is 220 V AC at 3 kVA, with an optional 220 V AC/DC external supply. Electrical connection uses M10 screw-type bars accepting up to 6 × 40 mm² cable, with entry from the top or bottom of the enclosure.
