The Schneider Electric ATV32HU40N4158 is an Altivar 32 variable speed drive rated for 4 kW / 5 hp at 380-480 V three-phase. It carries an integrated Class C2 EMC filter, which covers both environment 1 and environment 2 per EN 61800-3, so it meets the conducted emission limits for most industrial and light commercial installations without an external filter.
Output frequency range is 0.0005 to 0.599 kHz. The drive includes an adjustable PID regulator for closing a loop on pressure, flow, or level without an external controller. Braking torque reaches up to 170 % with an external braking resistor, which matters for overhauling loads or fast deceleration profiles. The drive protects against input phase loss, output phase-to-earth faults, overcurrent, and motor overheating — all built in, no add-on modules needed. Communication is via the front RJ45 for Modbus and CANopen; optional plug-in cards add DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, or Profibus DP V1. The 10.5 V DC reference supply (1 to 10 kOhm pot, <10 mA) is short-circuit protected, so wiring a speed pot is straightforward.
The drive measures 245 mm deep by 60 mm wide by 325 mm tall, with a heat-sink assembly. Control wiring torque is 0.5 N·m; power and motor terminals take 0.6–0.7 N·m.
