The Schneider Electric ATV350U40N4FS is an Altivar Machine ATV350 drive sized for a 4 kW asynchronous or synchronous motor on 400-480 V three-phase supply. Output current is 14 A continuous, with a 1-599 Hz output frequency range. An integrated Class C2 EMC filter covers 10 m cable runs, keeping external filter costs off the BOM for most panel builds. STO (Safe Torque Off) is built in per IEC 61800-5-2, so no separate safety relay is needed for a controlled stop on a machine cell. The drive carries CE, UL, CULus, and UKCA marking, with compliance to IEC 61800-5-1, UL 508C, and IEC 61508.
Fieldbus and I/O
Two Ethernet ports support EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, PROFINET, and EtherCAT via M12 I/O on the base. The internal 24 V DC supply powers the logic inputs, and a programmable digital input accepts 11-24 V logic. An incremental encoder input (24 V) is available for closed-loop speed feedback.
Protection and derating
Protection covers line supply phase loss, motor phase loss, overvoltage/undervoltage, overheating, motor overload (with PTC probes), short-circuit between motor phases, and overcurrent between output phases and earth. Switching frequency is adjustable 2-16 kHz; derate current 0.5% per 100 m above 1000 m altitude. For 3-phase input, derate current 2.5% per °C above 40 °C ambient.
